Travel Diaries: A Fast Flashback
As cliche as it might sound, but I truly mean it: I love travelling. Always looking for a cue to pack a bag and start off... Travelling has always been a passion, ever since the first tour I had when in college. As a kid, travelling, for me was all about going to Kathmandu, and watching movies and roaming around places with parents. I had not gone to many places until college days. I remember I was pretty excited for my first tour, which was of only one night and two days, in the third semester.
As growing up happens, it becomes easier to travel on own. But the only problem there will be the budget! There will be friends and the time can be managed from college but one needs a decent sum of money to go explore those amazing places one has been dreaming of. And students have limited pocket money, that’s all.
Studying civil engineering was fun when it came to college tours. We had, at least, one in each semester. I must admit that those tours were the most exciting things that acted like water on the desert of study and assignments and all stuff. At least for me! Even though we wouldn’t go to scenic places, every new place, good or bad, has something to offer; and when it’s done with friends, it becomes worth a memory. Malekhu, Kulekhani, Hetauda, Chitwan, Sarlahi, Dhulikhel, Pokhara, Kaligandaki were places covered up in those days.
Apart from college tours, we went to some places on our own too. Told about being grown-ups! Saved some money, made a plan with few friends and then pfft….off to travelling. What a joy it was! Manakamana, Daman, Kalinchowk, Jiri were where I ventured to with friends.

Hiking to Nagarjuna/Jamacho Gumba and Godawari to Fulchowki were good too. Went to Nagarkot, but couldn’t wander much due to bad weather. Sanga, the place of World’s Tallest Shiva Statue, is not new now, not after going there for like five times or more.
And many more…. I feel fun even in walking on the streets randomly, which I do frequently.

Well, thanks again to civil engineering, even working gets you travel to new places. Even though working in Rasuwa was hard and tiring, the natural beauty of there was worth remembering. In Dang, there was nothing so wow but the sunset; I hadn’t seen a sunset that amazing before. I got to travel to Lumbini, Bardia National Park and Karnali Bridge while working in Dang. If it were not for work, I would not have known that my own district (Ramechhap) has some nice places in northern areas.
Now, when you can manage some money, it gets difficult to manage time and friends. All are caught up in their own busy life. But hey - where there is a will, there is a way!
Mustang – Muktinath and Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Ghandruk are the biggest accomplishments on my travel bucket list so far.

Still have lots to cover… Bucket list is oh so full. (sigh)
Okay, done with bragging in the name of flashback ;) Thank you.
Happy Travelling.
How I already want another vacation!
