Rainbow pictures and the actual cause
The legalization that America recently declared happened here quite ago, few years back in Nepal. Anyway, it’s good to cheer up the equality. Love wins after all. Love is what matters at the end. And for supporting this very case, Facebook created a rainbow effect – symbolizing the Rainbow flag of Gay community. So, facebook walls were all painted with rainbow colors on profile pictures for a while. Now the question is, were all of them supporters for real?
Answers are all spilled up on troll photos. No doubts, there are a bunch of real supporters. Not only LGBT communities, heterosexuals are equally standing by the cause as well. Now, for the complaining mouths or say, hands in today’s networking scene, one doesn’t need to be an animal to support animal rights or a woman to support women rights! But, not everyone with rainbow highlighted dp are supporters of this same-sex marriage legalization in America. Many of them supported the cause without actually knowing what the cause is. Hence, new troll trend trended! No surprises!
Coming to the subject matter, whether it’s in Nepal or

in America, welcoming the equality is a good thing. Marriage should be about love ultimately. There can be hardly any harm in same sex marriage; it’s about marrying who you love; it’s solely about their personal matter, their interest and their rights. First thing is we all are human beings and every single one of us is different to each other. So, treating everyone equally in every manner is something humane, respectful and justifiable. The questions of natural or unnatural or anything like that are not of much importance compared to the meaningful existence of love and trust in between. Repeating again, Love is what matters the most at the end.
We have a different context here in our country. We are not raised up talking freely about sex or sexual health, homosexuality is far more the topic to talk or think about. Even in the present time of education and awareness, most of us still cannot pronounce the word sex or condom in front of family, talking about that is almost zero. This is true! No one is to blame but the so-called societal norms and values. If we have grown up in such environment, then it surely becomes awkward or weird today. (At least, modifying dp with rainbow effect was not that awkward but supportive instead.) But the change can happen, slowly, gradually. It’s all about the perception and the right way of thinking, about the effective education and awareness. Point is that, well, you’ve got it already! And besides sexuality, have we literally come over discrimination based on caste, gender, religion, class etc.? No. There's still a long way to go to equality.
If you want to support, support it without hesitation. If you don’t want to, then don’t. But wearing a colorful mask won’t mean much if the inside is still black. It would be good if we treat the equality in same manner as we show our concern about them on facebook and twitter. With changing times and increasing awareness, things will fall at a right place, slowly, gradually. Only then, the rainbow may truly shine.
P.S. don’t run after every attractive thing you see, first know what it is about, at least.
