At Some Point

Do you have to be in a bigger stature to have a big dream? Cannot you pursue your dream that is something other than one would call an ideal one? What price actually do you have to pay for your dreams? It is hard being a dreamer, until and unless you turn out to be an achiever. And that is a long way there, definitely full of hardships, judgments, obstacles, and what not. It takes a courage to take a step towards your chosen path but it takes more of it to get moving on without stopping, to rise again after you fall, to keep on hoping when no one but only you believe yourself. What is an ideal life? Finish certain level of study, get a job, marry, have kids, earn for a family, and then the responsibilities for your children; the cycle continues with generation. Would I be crazy if I have other plans for my life than those? Would I be crazy because I want all those things, but in a different way? Everything has a time-period. This all is temporary; nothing is permanent here. I don’t remember how many times I felt sad and how many times my heart was filled with happiness. I don’t remember how many times I felt lonely and alone. These feelings come and go constantly, in the same way, people do in our life. My life is the sky and these feelings are the clouds in it. I feel funny that I once used to think how I could live without something/someone. Well, I am still alive without those. Calendar changed. Another year passed. Same as usual - the dreams and the hopes are still unconquered and the taste of life is still mixed-up. Different in just the way those previous years used to be for everyday is new in itself and each year is different from another. Good moments and bad moments. Many mistakes and few prides. Everybody is struggling for his or her own goals, some clear and some blurred. Why are a majority of women in our country backward? Is it because there is a male-dominated society in Nepal? Yes, to some extent. But so is the world overall. And whilst world is suffering from the problem, have we thought deeply about the issue and its causes and solutions? The current time is transition phase all over the world when there comes the question of gender equality. It definitely takes quite a time to eradicate the gender discrimination completely but to let time carry all the duties on its shoulder is a big no-no. Life is full of surprises, and everybody knows the line. Life has this power to surprise us at any point, anywhere anytime, we do not know. We are always moving ahead even when we think we are not. It is not only the time that goes on, as we always say, but also the every aspects of life… dreams, passion, perceptions…life goes on and is actually a one step closer to death each second we breathe, considering a ‘second’ equivalent of one step. On a philosophical note, life is a big canvas, on which we paint our stories that we go through at different stages with the bright and dark colors of our feelings and the reality we endure. Having a philosophy helps in living in a certain way, not necessarily always. There is both difference and relation between reality and philosophy, its better if we spot these correctly. Many things can happen or nothing at all, at any point in life. There is always going to be certain points that you will be remembering forever and some other points, which you will want to erase from your memory. Call it the ritual of life. At some point, we might feel full of energy and enthusiasm but there will be time when we can feel just dull and lazy. At some point, we will fall in love and there will surely be some point when we will face heart-breaks. We can feel free and do whatever we like at some point but time will come when we will realize our responsibility. We may plan things in one order and dream about our future but we never know what is in the envelope unless we unfold it. There will come a point of being happy, enjoying pleasures and facing the sorrows and struggles.
