#KathmanduDiaries - Would you let your seat for needy ones while in a public vehicle?

The bus was crowded as always and I was standing, trying to balance myself in that crowd - doing so are other people. And there was a traffic jam upto Koteshwor, as always again. A woman boarded into a bus from Manohara bridge. She was carrying a little baby. Imagine now, how difficult it would have been to her? Our difficulties, relatively and comparably, are quite nothing then. But nobody offered her a seat!! After a couple of minutes, there was this one fine lady, who was also standing -- she requested a man to give his seat to that 'mother'. That very 'man', with a lot of weight, was sitting right beside the standing mother. But NO! He didn't let his precious seat. Instead, he threw quite a disgusting look. Seriously!! No wonder, the fine lady got disgusted too. " How can you just stay right there without helping? It is really being difficult for her, you can see that. And what is this staring? It brought the never seen before disaster with that almost a minute long strong shaking of ground. It is still haunting people with aftershocks, which have been routined almost as good morning shocks and good night shocks. Moreover, the thunderstorms are competing with the tremors now. Death toll has crossed eight thousands and the number of injured has reached almost eighteen thousands. Dharahara, Basantapur, Temples, villages, roads….none are left from the devastation. But the rays of hope are shining, that we will rise again.
